Gears and Gearbox

开云体育

Hope somebody can give me some info. I believe the change gears on the 7x lathes are 1.0 module. Can somebody please tell me the bore and keyways for the gears. By the way, what is the smallest gear provided for the change gears, 20?
?
Secondly, I know that there was a semi-quick-change gearbox designed and built by one of the people who participated on these 7x groups. Can somebody please tell me on which group I can find the construction article or provide a reference to the builders web site where I can find the article.

You can find links to three different quick change gearbox builds here:

Anthony,
?
The change gears are indeed Mod 1.0. The one I bought from LMS for a project (I don't have a "normal" 7x lathe myself) is 12mm bore, and the keyway is 3mm wide.
?
You may have been thinking of the QC gearbox shown in the Files Section of the mlathemods group:
< ?>, in the Files section under Threading Gearboxes.

Several persons responded to my questions, both here in the group and directly to me. I've had my gear questions answered and more than I was expecting on gearboxes.
?
The gearbox article I had been looking for is the one by Richard Hagenbuch.
?
The one by SwarfRat is ismilar and adds the electric drive to the leadscrew for finer feeds.
?
The one by Marcus Loignon is quite recent, purely pictorial at the present time but includes photos which show that he's actually building a gearbox.
?
I thank each of you who responded and the group at large. You've been a great help.
