I've got a shop apron, mats in front of the machines, and a small door mat at the exit of my shop. But the only thing that keeps chips in the shop (mostly) is to keep a pair of "shop shoes" for use

Another thing I learned from a wood carving group years ago is to use a shop apron with a full width pocket to catch errant chips before they hit the floor. I have two shop aprons and a shop coat.

Chips just fall where they want. I have trays, magnets, apron, vac, on and on and still they make it into my hands. As I use a wheelchair, chips or cuts in my hands are common. So I just accept all

My mini lathe is in a little shop in the backyard. I have a 12 gallon Rigid vacuum that's used to tidy things up while making chips and afterwards. Can't say as I've tracked anything into the house

Chips LOVE to get stuck in carpeting. So I have a piece of scrap carpeting in front of the door from the garage into the house. The chips get fooled into thinking it is somebody¡¯s nice home
