I¡¯ve seen more than one person reccomend a pair of ¡¯shop shoes¡¯ and someplace to sit near the garage/shop door so you can change to the ¡®house shoes¡¯ when going back into the house to keep

That is strange; I think it¡¯s then something in whatever email client you¡¯re using. If it¡¯s any web link in any email, it might be possibly some obscure preference setting to disable web links.

you can always use your caliper for depth gauge . Some places even sell bases to mount on the caliper . Theres several examples on this amazon page . Pretty simple to meke .
