There are many other sites. ? Even Google g-disk works. ? As does Apple iCloud drive. ? Neiter of them force the people looking at your photos to jump through any hoops

THAT should be anyones first requirement. ?the the site places any requirements on the viewers of your photos, no mater have small you can't use the site. ??

If the site requires my to turn off add blocking, I bail.? I assume most others will too. ? A sign-in a deal breaker too.

But you say "they have to pay for the site" ?Yes. ? I pay both Apple and Google to store my data, if I make it public you can see it from free because I pay Apple $0.99 per month.

There are also MANY who offer free space where you can build a web site. ? They offer limited free space in hope that you like it and want more, then you'd have to pay.? But I'm sure that only expect a tiny percent to convert to paying customers.

Google and Apple are both good.? I think Microsoft was a deal too that works

Hi,

Wait awhile before going for a new photo host.

Like you, I am disappointed with the recent changes in Photobucket terms and condition which require me to pay an annual fee if I want to carry on using the site as I have been doing for the last five years or so.

Photobucket have really upset a huge number of their users and there are a large number who are looking to 'jump ship'.? I'm sure that an alternative host will step in and grab the disenchanted membership by offering the features that Photobucket has removed and also providing a 'one click' transfer process to import all your Photobucket content - 'io groups' did exactly this in response to the concerns over Yahoo groups

Give it a month or so and then choose.

Personally, I would rule out any provider who requires you to 'sign in' to view content as this is an inconvenience to others viewing your photos.? This eliminates Facebook, Flickr, etc

All the best,
Ian

I tried to fix that - after fighting through about 20 ads.? Maybe it worked - not sure.? What a PIA.? I didn't realize they had screwed up their site like that.? Time to find a new photo sharing? vehicle :(

When I try to view your photo on photobucket, it says "Please update your account to allow 3rd party hosting". It used to just keep popping up ads while I was viewing a photo.

Thought I was being clever this time and started turning a piece on a long hunk of 2" stock - so I'd have plenty of margin for error.? See photo: ?
Next step is to drill a hole through the center of the turned section, starting from the tailstock end.? Unfortunately, in my cleverness, I didn't account for the length of the chuck and the drill - I either need a longer lathe bed or a shorter set up.

So, the next step now is to c ut off the turned section and re-mount it in my chuck.? Which leads to my question.

I've gotten pretty good at centering a piece in my 4-jaw chuck, using DI.? But, in this case, I need to center the counter sunk hole (where the tailstock is currently mounted) and also make sure the axis of the hole I drill will be parallel with the axis of the turned portion (IOW, make the axis of the turned portion parallel to the bed).? The turned down portion is about 2" long, so if it is not aligned parallel with the bed the hole will be off by quite a bit.? Any advice on the most efficient way to achieve this alignment?.
