This is what I meant by "features" vs "quality".? ? And as in the quote immediately above, it's still "bit of a gamble".

The mount mount is a feature of lathes with the brushless motor and direct spindle drive vs geared headstock.

Buying a $1300 LMS or MicroMark does not remove the "gamble" quotient.
