Upgraded the Group.
I was dumb enough to accept when Joe offered to make me an owner of the group. ;) Enough people have said they'd kick in $5 to keep the group going, and have more space, that I've gone ahead and upgraded. I fronted the $220 (not $200 as I thought it was) for the upgrade. Once my payment processes, we'll have 20gb of space for documents, photos, and attachments. If you want to help me out, my PayPal address is wmrmeyers@...?I can afford to pay $5, myself, so I need 43 donations of $5 via PayPal Friends and Family, or enough to cover the fees they charge if you don't want to do F&F. This gives us a year we don't have to worry too much about this, at least!

I contributed $25.00. I burned out the drive gears on my buffalo saw years ago so have not used it, who knew you were supposed to check the lube level yearly? It was a $50.00 yard sale sale so did not come with an user manual. I have been hoping to get enough info from the group to replace the gears. I put a Consew brushless?DC motor on my Delta 14" band saw so I can control the speed to cut metal. I have largely used my angle grinder with a cutoff?wheel. Now I have purchased an ?I don't know if I will ever repair the band saw! I can cut 1/2" plate like butter the Eastwood saw is great. But I really enjoy this group and get a lot from the discussions. And I thank you, Ralph! I got my 1983 Taiwan bandsaw from Craigslist earlier this year for $100, and found the motor was dead, dead, DEAD when I got it home. That's why I started hanging around here, too. :) There is some good info in the group, and I wanted to see it keep going.? Bill in OKC William R. Meyers, MSgt, USAF(Ret.) Ralph, I saw a cover for the gearbox made of Plexiglas in the files a good while back with a full mark scribed or painted on it and a fill port near the top. That what I plan to do to mine. Be sure to use lube intended for Brass gears. Leon Robinson ?? K5JLR Political Correctness is a Political Disease. Politicians and Diapers should be changed often and for the same reasons.

Bill is that?
$197.30? after deducting any fees? It was said that the fees tend to eat up $5.00 donations. Thanks for doing this! OK! We're there! It will probably take a couple of days for the group storage to get upgraded, since they need to make sure my payment clears.? Thirty people covered for the coming year. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to us all from them!
That means you'all can stop now, until about this time next year! Bill in OKC |
That was after deducting fees, allowing for the paper check, and my own share of the bill, and before everyone had their contributions sent in.? Just looked again, and we're at $233.30 in the PayPal account, now. I can save it for next year, I guess? Bill in OKC William R. Meyers, MSgt, USAF(Ret.)
